Actor Yoo Ah-in, who was sentenced to one year in prison in the first trial for taking habitual drugs, appealed for leniency in the first trial of the appeals court.In a trial held at the Seoul High Court today (29th),

Yoo argued that the lower court's sentence was too heavy and unfair, saying that it had become dependent on sleeping anesthetics in physically and mentally difficult situations.

It also added that it was not a malicious violation using loopholes in laws or regulations.

Yoo, who came to the court in a suit without a tie, did not say much.

From September 2020 to March last year, Yoo was put on trial for habitual administration of medical propofol 181 times under the guise of sleep anesthesia in a hospital in Seoul.

They are also accused of illegally prescribing sleeping pills in someone else's name, smoking marijuana, and encouraging others to smoke marijuana.

The first trial found most of Yoo's charges guilty and sentenced him to one year in prison.
