Baek Seung-ah of the Democratic Party of Korea, a member of the National Assembly's Education Committee, analyzed the data on "the current status of schools where sex offenders live within a radius of 1km" received from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family on the 30th.
In particular, Seoul had the highest percentage, with daycare centers (83%), kindergartens (82%), and elementary schools (82%) exceeding 80%, and middle and high schools (79%), respectively. In other words, 8 out of 10 schools have sex offenders within a 1km radius.
Daycare centers (76%) and elementary schools (73%) followed by Gwangju, middle schools (73%) and high schools (73%) followed by Busan.
The largest number of residents of sex offenders within a 1 km radius by school level was 22 at A daycare center, 19 at B kindergarten, 19 at C Elementary School, 20 at D Middle School, and 18 at E High School.
Meanwhile, it was found that Cho Doo-soon, a child sex offender, recently moved to another multi-family house about 2km away from the multi-family house in Wa-dong, Danwon-gu, Ansan, due to the expiration of his residence contract.
As a result, the police deployed regular patrol cars near Cho Doo-soon's new residence and put in their careers to strengthen patrols. In addition, the special security center, which was installed near the existing residential area, will soon be moved to a new residential area.
