Repoact reporter Heo Jae-hyun, who was indicted on the so-called "presidential election intervention public opinion manipulation case," filed an objection with the court, saying the prosecution conducted an illegal search and seizure, but it was not accepted.

On the 28th, the Seoul Central District Court rejected a quasi-appeal against the prosecution's search and seizure filed by Heo.

The court judged that if the prosecution confiscates digital evidence, there is an inevitable situation in which it has no choice but to extract and store the entire image file in the practice of investigation or trial.

Prosecutors seized and searched Huh's residence in October last year and secured electronic information contained in laptops and SSDs.

Heo filed a quasi-appeal in March, saying it is illegal for prosecutors to create and store entire image files of laptops and SSDs.

A quasi-appeal is a system in which an appeal is filed with the court when an investigative agency has a seizure and search.
