Kim Jae-yeon, the standing leader of the progressive Party, said, "The discussion on the unification of the progressive camp was not carried out properly in the last presidential election and President Yoon Suk Yeol was elected," adding, "Now, opposition alliance should be more actively open and considered."At a press conference marking the 7th anniversary of the founding of the party, Kim said, "Unfortunately, the volume of progressive politics has decreased, so we need to open the door to possibilities further through the local elections and the next presidential election."

He also explained that a referendum will be held until early December this year to impeach President Yoon Suk Yeol, which the Progressive Party is pushing for with the party's theory.
