The two lawmakers said more than 15,000 hacking attempts were detected by September this year, following 9,000 in 2022 and 13,000 last year, but no damage has occurred in the last five years through pre-blocking.
The Cyber Operations Command also reported that it is always prepared for cyber threats linked to third countries such as China, Russia, and Iran.
Regarding the "suspected martial law preparation," Yeo In-hyung, the commander of the Defense Security Command, reportedly received criticism from opposition members after answering that he would perform his reasonable duties according to the order issued by the president through the State Council if the security order was disturbed.
Rep. Park Sun-won of the Democratic Party said that Commander Yeo revised his remarks, saying, "I can only think of martial law in the situation of wartime transition," as he pointed out that it is a "very comprehensive condition for the domestic political situation."
