The Busan District Court's Criminal Chamber 11 acquitted A in his 20s, who was accused of violating the Special Act on Handling Traffic Accidents, saying that even if there was a mistake in speeding, there was no significant causal relationship with the accident.
The court decided that even vehicles that entered the intersection in violation of the signal could not be considered to be obligated to pay attention.
Mr. A was put on trial in November last year on charges of injuring a driver and a passenger by hitting a traffic light motorcycle while going straight at 82 kilometers per hour at an intersection with a speed limit of 50 kilometers per hour.
