The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Drug Crime Unit booked 91 people accused of selling or administering drugs, and arrested 12 people, including a man in his 40s, who was accused of selling drugs to customers and providing a place to administer drugs at an entertainment center in Gangnam.
Mr. A has been attracting customers by selling drugs for nine months since January at his entertainment bar in Yeoksam-dong, Seoul, and has been found to have steadily earned 1 billion units of sales every month.
The police, who launched an investigation after obtaining information that drugs were widely distributed in Gangnam entertainment district, found 77 people accused of selling or administering drugs around famous clubs in Cheongdam-dong as well as A's entertainment bar.
During the investigation, the police confiscated 45 million won worth of drugs such as ketamine and ecstasy, and are also preserving the proceeds of the crime before prosecution.
In addition, in August, the regulations were changed to allow business suspension if a business operator was caught selling or assisting drugs, so A's business was requested to take administrative measures.
The police are continuing to expand their investigation not only against Mr. A but also against workers at Gangnam entertainment establishments.
