The Special Committee on Resolving the Power Gap of the People has proposed a special law to bridge the employment gap between the metropolitan and non-metropolitan areas.

The special committee said it has selected semiconductors and artificial intelligence, climate tech, metaverse information and communication technology, and cultural contents tourism industries as major industries to foster.

It also eased financial support based on tax law standards, including the Restriction of Special Taxation Act, and regulations on so-called "reshoring" companies that returned to Korea after being abroad.

In addition, the special committee plans to support educational institutions and residential environments in the government and metropolitan governments so that young people working in the gap-solving industry in the non-metropolitan area can be educated and settled in the area.

The special committee aims to close the gap between the region and six areas: income, labor, education, business, and health, and this special law includes measures to close the regional gap.
