The European Union and the EU have strongly condemned North Korea's launch of intercontinental ballistic missiles and ICBMs, calling them "a demonstration of its unrelenting intention to continue developing weapons of mass destruction."

"As with North Korea's dispatch of troops to Russia and the provision of weapons, the launch of ICBMs is a blatant violation of a number of UN Security Council resolutions," the EU said.

"We condemn North Korea's ICBM launch," the British Foreign Ministry said in a statement. "This is a clear violation of U.N. Security Council resolutions."

"We urge North Korea to return to dialogue and give up its illegal nuclear and ballistic weapons program," he said.

North Korea fired an ICBM from Pyongyang to the East Sea at around 7:10 a.m. yesterday before our time.
