A senior administrator from the presidential office, who was fined 8 million won for drunk driving, was found to have driven 5km around Yongsan while intoxicated, far exceeding the level of license cancellation at the time.

According to the ruling released by Park Ji-won's office of the Democratic Party of Korea, Kang, the senior administrator of the presidential office, drove about 5km on the road in Yongsan-gu near Serving High Station at around 9:50 p.m. on June 7.

At the time of detection, Kang's blood alcohol concentration was 0.121%, far exceeding the level of license revocation.

The presidential office kept Kang at work for more than 40 days even after learning that he was driving under the influence of alcohol, but in July, he was excluded from his duties and suspended for two months.
