When Gangwon-do Superintendent of Education Shin Kyung-ho fell and injured himself while being protested by members of the Gangwon branch of the Korean Teachers and Education Workers' Union, the Ministry of Education announced a strict response policy.

The Ministry of Education expressed strong regret over the physical clash between the Gangwon Provincial Office of Education and the Gangwon branch of the KTU at Yangyang High School in Gangwon Province yesterday and the rise of Superintendent Shin Kyung-ho.

He then stressed that violence cannot be tolerated under any circumstances, and that if illegal activities occur, we will strictly respond in accordance with laws and principles to establish sound labor-management relations.

Shin reportedly injured his tailbone after falling while being protested by members of the KTU at around 7:30 p.m. last night during a visit to Yangyang High School.
