About 20 lawmakers from the Democratic Party of Korea and the Cho Kuk Innovation Party have formed a group to prepare for constitutional amendment, including shortening the term of the president of Yoon Suk Yeol, and have begun recruiting lawmakers to participate.

Rep. Jang Kyung-tae of the Democratic Party and Hwang Un-ha of the Innovation Party held a press conference and said that the sovereign people cannot directly participate in the current impeachment system determined by the Constitutional Court, and that they will push for a revision of constitutional supplementary provisions to reduce the president's term by two years.

The constitutional amendment then gave meaning to the incompetent and irresponsible president as a reasonable procedure to directly recover the power delegated by the people, unlike impeachment, which requires legal debate.

They called for active participation in the constitutional amendment process, saying that it is a way to avoid being recorded as a political party that has been impeached twice for the power of the people.
