Students in Seoul National University's balanced regional screening scores are higher than the overall average.

While Bank of Korea Governor Lee Chang-yong proposed regional proportional selection of top universities to stabilize housing prices, students who entered Seoul National University through balanced regional screening actually showed better grades than average.

According to the data submitted by Seoul National University to Baek Seung-ah, a member of the National Assembly's education committee, the average graduation grade from the balanced regional class was 3.67 points among students who graduated from Seoul National University in February, 0.06 points higher than the average grade of all undergraduate graduates.

The phenomenon that the grades of students in the balanced regional screening at Seoul National University are higher than the overall average was common in all fields, including engineering and medicine, arts and sports, and humanities and social sciences.

Of the 355 students who graduated from Seoul National University's undergraduate school in February this year, 25.9%, or a little more than a quarter, received excellent scholarships at least once while attending school.
