A leading suspect has been arrested in Seoul in connection with a case in which a body believed to be a woman in her early 30s was found damaged in the Bukhangang River in Hwacheon, Gangwon Province.

Hwacheon Police Station said it has urgently arrested a man in his 30s on murder charges at around 7:10 p.m. today (3rd) in the basement of Ilwon Station in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

A has been confirmed to be an active duty soldier, but the police are investigating the exact details of the crime against A.

Earlier, at around 2:50 p.m. yesterday (2nd), a report was received that a part of the body had surfaced from the Bukhangang River in front of the Hwacheon Gymnasium in Hwacheon-eup, Hwacheon-gun.

Then, this morning (3rd), the police resumed their search, and found and recovered some more damaged bodies near the dock on the island of crucian carp.
