The U.S. presidential election, which adopts the federal system, is also unique, but the time to vote and count is also complicated.

There is a time difference between regions and the rules set by each state are different, so voting will take place over 10,000 days.

Reporter Park Hee-jae reports.

The U.S. presidential election will begin at 0:00 p.m. Eastern time on the 5th and at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow (5th).

The curtain rises on Dixville Notch, a small mountain town in northeastern New Hampshire, where fewer than 10 voters will vote.

It follows the tradition of going to work early in the morning after voting when there was a mine.

Following the Dixville Notch, the presidential election voting procession continues across all 50 states with a lag.

At 5 a.m. Eastern time, it starts in Vermont, goes through central Texas, and then west to California, and then Hawaii and Alaska.

Voting times vary slightly from state to state, ranging from 12 to 15 hours, and the deadline is sequentially from the eastern part of the country.

The day after tomorrow at 8 a.m., it closes in Indiana and Kentucky, and ends in Alaska at around 2 p.m.

With the exception of Hawaii and Alaska, there are four time zones on the U.S. mainland alone, where some states are in the midst of voting, exit polls are announced or counted in others.

The outline of the winner could be revealed as early as this afternoon, but there is a possibility that it will be delayed further depending on the voting situation in the seven competing states as there will be a super-confrontation in the seven competing states.
