The French Embassy in Korea held a press conference today to promote the import of French beef, which was suspended due to the outbreak of mad cow disease in 2000, is now available again.
Beef from countries with mad cow disease must be reviewed by the National Assembly for import hygiene conditions to be imported again, and the necessary procedures for export have been completed after the sanitary conditions for French and Irish beef were passed at the end of last year.
However, as the three marts are said to have no plans to sell French beef right away, it is unlikely to be supplied to the market right away.
