The National Park Service announced that it will implement a restriction announcement, such as drilling holes in the seashore rock, from the 11th to preserve the seashore rock in maritime and coastal national parks.
The target areas are Hallyeo Maritime, Dadohae Maritime, Taean Coast, and Byeonsan Peninsula, and restrictions include drilling holes in the seashore rock, damaging and polluting it through lead, and possessing electric drills.
If you are caught violating the announcement, you can be fined up to 2 million won.
The National Park Service cautioned that drilling holes or leaving lead on the rocks to install several fishing rods accelerates environmental pollution as well as depletion of fish stocks and disturbances in the marine ecosystem.
