The government said 170 flood warnings have been issued this year, five times more than in previous years, due to the introduction of artificial intelligence flood forecasts.

The number of flood warnings issued also increased significantly from 75 to 223 this year.

The Ministry of Environment analyzed that 78% of the flood warnings issued were the first places to be issued this year, and in particular, local rivers had 11 times more new branches than existing ones.

As a result, the Ministry of Environment has spread a total of 2,495 flood information to related agencies this year based on the flood warning and river levels observed at 673 water level stations nationwide.
