The Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office, which is investigating the so-called "call-drive" charge, launched a search and seizure of seven locations, including Kakao headquarters and Kakao Mobility offices, today (5th).

The prosecution believes that Kakao Mobility manipulated the algorithm so that franchise taxis could preempt passenger calls.

We are also looking into allegations of "call blocking" that prevents competitors from receiving general calls.

The Fair Trade Commission, which investigated the related case first, imposed fines of 27 billion won and 72 billion won on Kakao Mobility on charges of "driving calls" and "blocking calls," respectively.
