The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the National Police Agency, and Interpol have arrested suspects who operated illegal IPTV services in the Philippines through international cooperation.
Suspect A is accused of violating copyrights by operating illegal IPTV services for a fee and transmitting domestic broadcasts and various online video service contents without permission.
Earlier, MBC and others filed a complaint with the police, claiming that copyright infringement problems occurred in the Philippines.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the National Police Agency have been responding by signing a business agreement with Interpol since April 2021 to crack down on K-content copyright crimes.
IPTV is an Internet-based broadcasting service that provides not only real-time broadcasting but also functions such as replay and the Internet.
