The Truth and Reconciliation Commission said it made a decision to investigate the truth about 75 civilians killed before and after the Korean War.

The committee said 75 civilians, ranging from teenagers to people in their 60s, were killed by soldiers and police over three years from November 1948, and recommended that the state and local governments make an official apology and proceed with measures to recover from the damage.

It also recommended that 17 people who have been killed or missing in Gyeonggi Province for three months since July 1950 by hostile forces because they are government officials, right-wingers, or their families, be determined and urged the country to apologize to the North Korean regime.

In addition, the committee decided to further investigate the truth about civilian casualties before and after the Korean War in various parts of the country, including Gyeonggi, Yeonghonam, and Chungcheong.
