Russia reacted cautiously to former U.S. President Donald Trump's election as president, saying it would see what steps former President Trump takes after taking office.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing on the 6th local time.

He also pointed out that the U.S. is an unfriendly country directly or indirectly involved in the war against Russia, saying he does not know whether President Vladimir Putin will congratulate Trump.

Peskov said the relationship between the U.S. and Russia is the worst ever, so it is virtually impossible to get worse, adding that it is up to the next U.S. government to see how the relationship will change.

As for the claim that Russia interfered in the US presidential election, it dismissed the claim that it had never interfered in anyone's internal affairs, was not interfering, and had no intention of interfering.
