In October this year, when the weather was exceptionally changing, both the temperature and the number of precipitation days recorded "all-time" levels.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said in its October climate characteristics analysis data released today (7th) that the national average temperature in October this year was 16.1 degrees Celsius, 1.8 degrees Celsius higher than the average year (14.3 degrees Celsius).

This is the second-highest temperature since the 1973 observation and the highest in 18 years since 2006, when the temperature was 16.5 degrees Celsius.

It also recorded 115.8mm, 1.8 times more precipitation than normal (63.0mm),

In particular, the number of precipitation days was 11, 5.1 days more than the average (5.9 days), the highest in 51 years since the 1973 observation.

The Korea Meteorological Administration analyzed that the warm and humid southern winds continued to flow in and that the sea surface temperature around the Korean Peninsula was the highest in the last decade.

As a result, the first fall foliage this fall began in late October, up to 15 days later.

In particular, on the 28th, 15 days later than usual, in Hallasan Mountain on Jeju Island, the latest "first autumn leaves" were observed in 33 years since the 1991 observation.
