Cold disease refers to hypothermia, frostbite, and alumni, and in severe cases, it can lead to death.
Last winter, 400 people with cold diseases were caught by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's monitoring system, of which 12 died.
Among the patients, hypothermia accounted for the majority with 79.5%, and by age, the elderly aged 65 or older accounted for 51.5%.
The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention emphasized that the weather information should be checked before going out this winter and that people should go out as much as possible during the cold wave.
