Kang Myung-il, chairman of the MBC Labor Union's Emergency Response Committee, was selected as the grand prize winner at the awards ceremony.
The group award was given to the Fair Press National Alliance, and the press freedom award was given to former KBS reporter Lee Young-poong and Seok Woo-seok, head of the Fair Press National Alliance for External Cooperation.
The reporter award went to Yang Chang-wook, head of the Daily Association, Cho Kwang-hyung, a New Daily entertainment broadcast reporter, and Kang Min, a current affairs focus reporter.
Director Zhang Yire, who produced the documentary film "The Battle of Chuncheon: The Memories of Three Days," won the best director award.
Song Jae-yoon, a history professor at McMaster University in Canada, Chun Young-sik, CEO of Penn & Mike, and Won Young-seop and Lim Eung-soo, a lawyer, won the legal award, respectively.
The winner of the Culture and Arts Award was Hwang Seung-kyung, a performance columnist, Ryu Je-woong, head of the YTN New Business Promotion Team, and Kim Sung-min, director of the MBC Labor Union, and Oh Jung-hwan, former chairman of the MBC Labor Union, Park Ki-wan, producer of KBS, and Huh Sung-kwon, chairman of the KBS Labor Union.
The judges included Kim Kyung-won, head of KBS Media's management strategy division, Kim Won, head of YTN's planning and coordination division, Yang Dong-il, head of KBS Media's content production division, Yang Joon-yong, head of the MBC Broadcasters Association's business division, and Choi Young-jae, general editor of Asia Today's political and social affairs division.
Meanwhile, the event was organized by the Korean Federation of Journalists (hereinafter referred to as the Korean Federation of Journalists) to honor those who have worked to change and develop the media throughout the year.
