In connection with the "divorce lawsuit" in which a son in his 40s hid his father's body in a freezer and pretended to be his father, YTN reporters secured the ruling, and it was confirmed that the lawsuit was underway over a property that appeared to be worth 6.9 billion won.

According to the ruling at the time, A's father filed a divorce suit against his wife B in 2022, and B also filed a counter-action suit asking for 3.3 billion won out of his father's 6.9 billion won.

As a result of the trial leading up to the Supreme Court, the court refused to accept B's request for property division, and the ruling was confirmed in April.

Experts believe that if the trial is completed while the father is alive, his son A will inherit most of the property, but if his father died and reported his death during the trial, his stepmother B will inherit 4.1 billion won and A 2.8 billion won according to the legal inheritance ratio.

While A told the police that he hid his father's death because of property problems, the police are investigating whether he hid his body while his father's divorce lawsuit was underway due to the division of property with his stepmother.

Earlier on the afternoon of the 1st, A handed himself in to the police, saying he had kept his father's body in a freezer for more than a year, and the police believe that his father died around September last year and have been investigating the exact time of death and why A hid his body.
