Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, said, "We desperately need practical diplomacy that prioritizes national interests, not ambiguous value diplomacy," and insisted that the South Korean government should change its foreign policy stance altogether.

At the Supreme Council, Lee criticized the U.S. and Japan, saying that the heads of the U.S. and Japan have changed while President Yoon Suk Yeol only calls for ideological diplomacy, and the world has entered an era of infinite competition without concessions.

As the first Trump administration of the United States contributed to peace on the Korean Peninsula through the first U.S.-North Korea summit, he said he expects the second Trump administration to continue its efforts to promote peace.

Supreme Council member Kim Min-seok also explained that various party efforts will be made to increase consensus with Trump's side.
