According to foreign media, a match was held in Amsterdam on the evening of the 7th local time between the Dutch soccer team Ajax and the Israeli soccer team Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Ajax beat Maccabi Tel Aviv 5-0.
Hundreds of Maccabi Tel Aviv fans were attacked as they were leaving the stadium shortly after the match, according to a post by the Israeli Embassy in the U.S. on social media X.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was briefed on the situation, ordered two transport planes to help his people immediately, according to Reuters.
As a result, the Israeli military will be deployed to rescue missions with the cooperation of the Dutch government.
Israel's national security minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, told X of the situation at the time, "Fans who went to see a football game were attacked in a brutal manner that could not be imagined just because they were Jewish."
Reuters said the nature of the attack was not yet clear.
Dutch police are said to have arrested at least 57 people at the scene of the incident and are investigating.
