Yes, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office asked the court to sentence Choi, a man in his 20s, to death today (8th).

The prosecution first accused Choi of actually damaging the body, saying that he intensively stabbed a certain part of the victim's body with a weapon to death.

He also pointed out that Choi did not show any sorry for the victim, claiming that he committed the crime after being threatened by the victim's father.

He then explained the reason for the sentence, saying that the extreme sentence is inevitable, and even if the death penalty is not executed, it is appropriate to repent for life as a death row prisoner.

Choi said he apologized to the bereaved families, saying he had committed something he should not have done by falling into the wrong idea.

He also added that he was sorry for causing a stir, saying that he once expected to return it to society by learning to help and treat others, but only gave shock and sadness.

Soon after, the victim's father, who was in court, asked the court to sentence Choi to death.

The rest of the family, who sent their daughter, who was a precious treasure first, knelt in court, asking for the death penalty to relieve her of her pain, saying she had only spent time in tears.

Choi was arrested and put on trial on May 6 for stabbing his girlfriend several times on the roof of a building near Gangnam Station in Seoul.

In the past, he was attending medical school at a prestigious university in Seoul after receiving a perfect score on the university's academic ability test, but he was expelled from the university after the crime was known.

Choi was found to have committed the crime out of spite when he was asked to separate from the victim's parents after it was revealed that he secretly registered his marriage with the victim in April.

The court decided to hold a first trial on the 20th of next month after reviewing the trial records, including the results of mental evaluation of Choi.

So far, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office has informed you.
