H5 type AI antigen detection...Test results confirm highly pathogenic
A 24-hour 'temporary suspension of movement' has been issued for duck farms nationwide.
A highly pathogenic AI and avian influenza have been confirmed at a meat duck farm in Eumseong, Chungcheongbuk-do.
For the second time after last month's spawning farm in Donghae, Gangwon Province, quarantine authorities have started to prevent the spread by burying all ducks raised in farms.

Crews in quarantine uniforms move busily inside the farm.
At the entrance to the farm, a sign was set up to control access, and a tent was also set up for burial work.
When more than 20 ducks raised on the farm suddenly died, the farm owner reported to the quarantine authorities, saying they suspected AI.
As a result of detailed examination, H5 type AI and avian influenza antigens were detected.
The quarantine authorities deployed an initial quarantine team to control access to farms and buried 20,000 ducks in captivity.
In addition, a temporary suspension order was issued for duck farms nationwide for 24 hours.
Authorities designated a 10km quarantine unit centered on the farm where the outbreak occurred and strengthened disinfection and forecasting activities to prevent the spread of AI.
It is the second time in the country that AI antigen has been released after a spawning farm in Donghae, Gangwon Province, last month.
In Chungbuk, it has been two years since the last outbreak in November 2022.
There are also high concerns about the spread of 98 poultry farms and 3.78 million in the 10-kilometer quarantine zone.
In response, the quarantine authorities decided to carry out preventive burial work on 110,000 adjacent poultry farms to prevent the spread.

The quarantine authorities urged them to comply with basic quarantine rules to prevent the spread of AI and immediately report suspected symptoms such as reduced feed intake or death of poultry.
