The number of graduates who took the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) is the highest since 2004.

In particular, the increase in medical schools is expected to go beyond simple variables and act as the "nuclear of the typhoon" of the CSAT, as a large number of top-ranked N students targeting medical schools are expected to increase the difficulty of the test.

This is reporter Lee Moon-seok.

[Cho Kyu-hong / Minister of Health and Welfare (February 6) : We want to expand the workforce of 10,000 doctors by 2035.]

As soon as the government announced its plan to increase medical schools in February, entrance examination analysis institutions predicted a "madness" for medical school entrance exams.

This is because the number of people increased by 1,500 from the previous year, and the number of passing "needle holes" increased 1.5 times.

We also expected an increase in 'N students' such as retaking and taking the CSAT again after graduating from high school.

And the prediction was right.

Among the 2025 CSAT applicants, there are more than 160,000 graduates, the highest in 21 years.

The number of enrolled students also increased by 14,000 from the 24th grade.

More than half of N students go to college in entrance examination institutions. I analyzed it as a class student who jumped back into the entrance examination.

It is estimated that many students who want to go to better medical schools are included.

As the 'gate of admission' to medical school has expanded, the number of top-ranked test takers who want to enter has also increased.

Therefore, passing may not be as easy as before.

The increase in the number of high-ranking test takers is also expected to increase the difficulty of the CSAT.

This is because the possibility of increasing the number of tricky problems to increase score discrimination has increased.

[Lim Seong-ho / Head of Jongno Academy: Due to the expansion of medical school recruitment capacity and a significant increase in N students, there is a high possibility that the CSAT questions with high discrimination will be asked, and there is a possibility that the acceptance level for science and engineering will be slightly lower than in previous years]

In the end, it is analyzed that the expansion of medical school quotas has become the "core of the typhoon" that brings top-ranked students back to the entrance exam and controls the difficulty of the CSAT.
