A fishing boat sank in the sea near Jeju Island early yesterday morning, leaving 12 crew members missing.

Authorities continued to search at night, but there was no news of the discovery yet.

There is a reporter on the scene. Reporter Bae Minhyuk!

You haven't heard of any additional discovery yet, have you?

[Reporter]
The Coast Guard continued its search overnight, but has yet to find any missing persons.

From 8 o'clock just now, we have expanded the scope to continue the search.

About 50 ships and nine aircraft will be deployed during the day today for the search.

In addition, more than 400 people will search the coast on foot and drone to predict where the missing people would have been washed away.

It plans to continue its underwater search, with about 20 divers from the Coast Guard deployed.

Ships and nets are intertwined, and the hull sinks to a depth of more than 80m, making access difficult.

Because of this, the Navy has also dispatched the necessary equipment for deep diving.

In addition, we plan to deploy crane barges to the site in case of lifting the hull.

Rescued sailors stated that the ship suddenly flipped over?

[Reporter]
Yes, it is.One of the rescued sailors

said the ship overturned in the blink of an eye.

I'll listen to it myself.

[Park Sung-gyu / Starfleet Navigator: I only saw screws and propellers behind the ship. I could only see the back of my stomach and the bottom. You can say it's all locked.]

The Coast Guard is also focusing on identifying the cause of the accident.

The first investigation was conducted on 13 rescued sailors yesterday.

The Venus ferry was found to have suddenly turned over to the right while it moved the catch to the carrier and was waiting for the second carrier. Some of the crew members who were rescued

reportedly stated that too many catches to bear the weight seemed to be the cause of the accident.

The Coast Guard is investigating the cause of the ship's loss of resilience based on statements from rescue crew members and others.
