The Coast Guard said the Venus had caught three to five fishing catches at the time of the accident.
The Coast Guard explained that it secured similar statements from the crew that there were many fish in the net, even though the carrier first transferred 200 tons of fish.
A surviving Indonesian sailor also told YTN that the accident appeared to have occurred due to the large number of fish in the net, even though the carrier made the first transfer.
As the Coast Guard conducts a reference investigation, it plans to raise the Venus ship later to investigate whether it has lost its resilience.
The 129-ton Busan-registered Venus, carrying 27 sailors, sank at 4:30 a.m. yesterday (8th) in the sea of Biyangdo Island, Jeju.Of the 15 people rescued in the accident
, 2 were killed and 12 were missing.
