POSCO Pohang Steelworks Fire...Two hours or so, a big fire has been put under control.

A fire broke out at 4:20 a.m. today (10th) inside POSCO Pohang Steelworks in Pohang, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

In the fire, one employee working inside the factory was taken to a hospital with first or second-degree burns on his face and hands.

Fire authorities issued the first stage of response that mobilized both the personnel and equipment of the competent fire department, putting out the large fire in 2 hours and 20 minutes.

However, as there are many ignited substances inside the factory, it is expected that it will take more time to fully evolve and we are maintaining the first stage of response.

There were also a series of reports of fires, and nearby residents reported hearing several explosions along with the flames.
