The National Assembly's plenary session on the 14th, this Thursday, is expected to introduce the "Kim Gun-hee Special Prosecutor Act," which was proposed for the third time by the Democratic Party of Korea.

In response to the opposition's attack on the independent counsel law, the ruling and opposition parties are fiercely fighting, with the People's Power starting to discuss "special inspector" who inspects the president's family and others.

I'm connecting with a reporter from the National Assembly, reporter Jeong In-yong!

Please tell us the atmosphere of the ruling party first.

[Reporter]
Yes, within the power of the people, the discussion on the promotion of a special inspector, which was publicly demanded by representative Han Dong-hoon, is a hot topic.

Kim Sang-hoon, chairman of the policy committee, said at a press conference a little while ago that he decided to hold a general meeting of lawmakers on the 14th and that he would discuss the special inspection in a way to reduce the conflict within the party.

However, he added that since the Democratic Party of Korea opposes it, it will be necessary to wait and see if the ruling and opposition parties can agree on the appointment of a special inspector smoothly.

In the first place, the floor leadership linked the recommendation of a special inspector to the Democratic Party of Korea's recommendation of a director of the North Korean Human Rights Foundation, resulting in a battle between pro-Yoon-gye and close relatives.

Some analysts say that if the issue of the special inspector is smoothly agreed at the general meeting of the ruling party lawmakers, it could be used as a card to counter the opposition's attack on the special counsel law against Kim.

CEO Han Dong-hoon, who has emphasized the promotion of the special inspection, made a counterattack on SNS today with the sentence of CEO Lee Jae-myung, which is coming on the 15th.

If he is innocent because he is not guilty, there will be no more politically beneficial event for the Democratic Party than the live broadcast of Representative Lee's trial, he said, urging the ruling to be broadcast live.

At the same time, they criticized the Democratic Party of Korea's series of outdoor rallies, saying they held a demonstration to intimidate judges to turn them into innocent because they thought they were guilty.

I'll also look at the Democratic Party news.

First of all, you are opposed to the ruling party's push for a special inspector?

[Reporter]
Yes, the Democratic Party says that there are not enough "special inspectors" focused on preventing misconduct in the current situation.

Spokesperson Han Min-soo asked at a National Assembly briefing, "Do you think the special inspector can reveal the truth of Kim Gun-hee's alleged manipulation of state affairs?"

He also urged representative Han Dong-hoon to accept Kim's special counsel law, saying, "Does the special inspector respond to the angry voices of the people?"

He added that if he expresses his position on accepting the special prosecutor, he will then discuss the process of consultations between the ruling and opposition parties over the appointment of a special inspector within the party.

It is widely expected that if the independent counsel law led by the opposition party goes to the plenary session this week, it will pass with a majority vote amid the opposition's numerical advantage.
Even if the
Special Prosecutor Act is passed, President Yoon Suk Yeol is expected to exercise his right to demand reconsideration, so the Democratic Party is keeping an eye on the re-vote expected on the 28th.

From the perspective of the Democratic Party of Korea, it is expected to focus on the offensive aimed at this niche, as more than eight votes from the ruling party are needed to implement the independent counsel law.

After the second outdoor rally yesterday, the Democratic Party of Korea plans to strengthen its public opinion campaign to implement the independent counsel law.

On the 16th, he plans to join forces with other opposition parties to denounce President Yoon and his wife and call for an independent counsel,
