The fencing men's sabre team won the team title in the first World Cup tournament of the new season despite the absence of two main members of the Paris Olympics gold medal.

The Sabres national team, consisting of Park Sang-won, Do Kyung-dong, Ha Ha-sol, and Lim Jae-yoon, came out on top in the World Cup team event in Algeria.

Among the team members who won three consecutive Olympics, Oh Sang-wook and Koo Bon-gil were away due to injury treatment, but Han Ha-sol and Lim Jae-yoon combined to defeat Italy in the semifinals and Iran in the final.

For the women's sabre team, Ha Young won the individual title and won the bronze medal in the team event.
