A delegation of ruling and opposition lawmakers will visit the U.S. this week to push for a meeting with a close aide to President-elect Donald Trump.

They will attend the 9th Korea-U.S. Strategic Forum hosted by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, D.C. on the 18th and 19th local time to explain Korea's position on the Korea-U.S. alliance and economic cooperation.

The parliamentary group consisted of Kim Seok-ki, chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee, and Kim Gun and Kim Young-bae, the secretaries of the ruling and opposition parties.

In addition, former Foreign Minister Park Jin, who was in charge of the Yoon Suk Yeol government's first foreign and security line, and former National Security Office chief Kim Sung-han will also join the schedule.
