The Wall Street Journal reported that President-elect Donald Trump excluded former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo from the second administration because Trump's eldest son pushes Vice President-elect JD Vance.

"The Trump administration, which is currently forming, will not include former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley and former Secretary Pompeo," Trump said on social media "Truth Social."

In response, the Wall Street Journal mentioned Trump's eldest son Donald Jr.'s "Making a JD Vance President" project, which appeared as the most powerful man in Trump's second term.

In particular, it was analyzed that the announcement of Pompeo's exclusion showed that Donald Jr. and others tried to prevent heavyweights from entering the second Trump Cabinet who could challenge Vance for the 2028 presidential election.

The Wall Street Journal noted that the exclusion of Pompeo and Haley, which emphasized alliance-focused international conflict intervention, has implications for anticipating the direction of the second Trump administration's foreign policy, which wants to step away from conflict intervention.
