Choo criticized legislation at the floor meeting, saying it is a behavior of treating it as a political bargaining target without negotiations between the ruling and opposition parties and abusing the special prosecutor as an attack card that encourages division of the opposing party.
The submission of the amendment itself reveals the unconstitutionality of the original bill of the independent counsel and human rights violations, and the Democratic Party of Korea should first apologize to the public for the proposal of the bad independent counsel law before pushing for the amendment.
What the Democratic Party should do now is to request a live broadcast of Lee Jae-myung's first trial, adding that it expects South Korean judges to rule on the basis of legal principles and conscience without being swayed by opposition cajoling and intimidation.
