The Ministry of Unification predicted that North Korea may officially send North Korean troops to Russia after ratifying the North Korea-Russia Treaty, which stipulates support in the event of war.

An official from the Ministry of Unification told reporters today, "We are watching the possibility of officially linking the treaty to the dispatch of troops to Russia through the exchange of ratifications between North Korea and Russia."

It is also possible that North Korea and Russia have coordinated the timing of ratification in consideration of the U.S. presidential election, and that North Korea's swift action following Russia is intended to demonstrate the two sides' willingness to implement the treaty.

The official said that all necessary procedures for ratification of the North Korea-Russia Treaty have been completed, and that the exchange of ratifications is a formality, and that high-level officials may visit and hold an exchange event if an opportunity is prepared.
