The Seoul Western District Court sentenced a 22-year-old man, identified only by his surname Moon, to six months in prison and two years of probation for forgery of public electronic records.
The court explained that the guilt is not light because it lowers the morale of soldiers who serve faithfully, but that Moon has now taken the first step into society.
Moon, who served in the military from November 2021 to August 2023, is accused of accessing the National Defense Personnel Information System, falsely applying for a vacation, and making his supervisor approve it.It turned out that Mr.
had left the unit for 51 days on 19 occasions with this method.
