[Seoul] Seoul City reduces 190 tons of volume-based waste per day...Strengthen recycling

While direct landfilling of pay-as-you-go waste will be banned in the Seoul metropolitan area from 2026, the Seoul Metropolitan Government said it has reduced its pay-as-you-go waste by 190 tons a day this year.The city of

said it has reduced 136 tons of waste per day by discovering business sites that can handle waste by itself and increasing waste recycling such as ceramics, glass, and tiles.

It also explained that it has built a collection system to recycle discarded coffee grounds and increased waste vinyl recycling to reduce 52 tons of volume-based waste per day.The city of

plans to reduce 450 tons of volume-based waste per day by 2026.
