Yes, the 34th Criminal Division of the Seoul Central District Court said it will not allow the first trial of Lee's election law trial scheduled for the 15th to be broadcast live.

The court explained that it decided not to film or broadcast the sentencing related to comprehensively considering the related legal interests.

Although it is a case of great attention, it seems that the negative impact expected when the sentence was broadcast live was greater than the benefits.

Following the Suwon District Court's refusal to accept the request for a live broadcast of the "North Korea Remittance Case," the election law sentence failed to be broadcast live, raising the possibility that the perjury teacher's trial scheduled for the 25th will not be broadcast live.

According to the court's bylaws, the presiding judge can permit the application for filming the date of the sentence if the defendant agrees.

Even if the accused does not agree, they can grant permission if they believe that the public interest is great.

In the case of the lower court, not the Supreme Court's sentence, there has been a precedent in which the first trial of former President Park Geun Hye's manipulation of state affairs and former President Lee Myung Bak's embezzlement and bribery cases have been broadcast live so far.

As a result, the People's Power submitted a petition to the court to broadcast the sentence live, and a one-man protest continued, but it was not accepted this time.

The live broadcast failed, but the application for the general public's audience ticket, which was held until yesterday afternoon, was closed, and the lottery ended at 11 a.m.

Of the 100 seats in the middle court, 36 were allocated to the general public, excluding the seats of litigants and reporters.

Although a small number of people actually enter the court, more than 6,000 people are expected to flock to the protest around Seocho-dong on the day of the sentence.

In response, the court plans to put additional security personnel not only inside the court but also in the movement of the accused or the court.

The police are also expected to put in additional experience to prepare for any contingency on the day of sentencing.
