The Supreme Court today (14th) upheld the original ruling that acquitted Mayor Park, who was indicted on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act.
Mayor Park was indicted after raising suspicions during the 2022 local elections, such as "a strong candidate from the former mayor was involved in the expulsion of his party."
Since then, the first and second trials have acquitted Mayor Park, saying he did not conclude his involvement, but merely expressed his opinion.
Currently, Mayor Park's spouse is also indicted on charges of receiving money and valuables from his former mayor's spouse ahead of the local elections and accusing it to the NEC to induce the election to be invalid.
