At today's plenary session of the National Assembly, the revision of the Kim Gun-hee Special Prosecutor Act, which is promoted by the Democratic Party of Korea, will be put to a vote.

The amendment is to compress the scope of the special prosecution's investigation into allegations of Kim's involvement in Deutsche Motors stock price manipulation and suspicions related to Myung Tae-kyun, and to give the chief justice of the Supreme Court the first right to recommend the special prosecution candidate.

However, the Democratic Party added a clause that allows the opposition to demand a re-recommendation if the candidate recommended by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is deemed inappropriate.

As a result, the people's power is considering not attending the plenary session's vote, saying that the opposition party will eventually monopolize the right to recommend the special prosecutor.
