U.S. President-elect Donald Trump visited Washington, D.C., for the first time since winning the presidential election and celebrated the victory with Republican lawmakers.

Before meeting with President Biden on the 13th local time, Trump said it was always good to win at a meeting of House Republicans and that Republicans had secured a majority of not only the seven competing states but also the total number of voters, achieving historic levels.

House Speaker Mike Johnson called Trump the "comeback king," saying he was the first president since Grover Cleveland to succeed after failing to seek reelection during his term.

Trump, who is facing his last presidential term, even joked about running for president again, saying he would not run again unless you told him to.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who Trump has named as the head of the government's efficiency department, also attended the meeting of House Republicans.
