U.S. President-elect Donald Trump is expected to soon appoint a special envoy for peace in Ukraine to lead negotiations with Russia on the end of the war, Fox News reported on the 13th, citing multiple sources.
"You will see a very high-level envoy who is reliable, and he will be tasked with finding a solution and making sure that a peaceful agreement is reached," a source said.
Fox News said it does not expect Ukraine's special envoy for peace to be paid by the government, citing Kurt Faulker, who served as Ukraine's special envoy between 2017 and 2019.
Trump has argued that he can negotiate an end to the war between Ukrainian President Zelensky and Russian President Putin.
However, few details are known about how the negotiations can be concluded.
