The Ministry of National Defense and the Military Manpower Administration said they will conduct a survey of retired medical officer candidates from their major training institutions this year to reasonably judge and adjust the timing of their military service obligations.

The two institutions said that as of the end of last month, there were about 3,000 candidates for medical officers who retired from their major training institutions, and if they choose to join the military at once, it is expected to far exceed the usual demand for military service.

Accordingly, he added that he decided to investigate his intention to join the military through mobile phone notification messages and mail from the 18th to the 29th in order to establish a reasonable plan for joining the military.

Officials from the Ministry of National Defense and the Military Manpower Administration explained that in order to secure stable military doctors and ensure training conditions, they will be selected and managed as candidates for compulsory military officers among their majors, and if they complete training or retire, they will join the military as active-duty officers according to related laws.
