Starting with Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province, yesterday (13th), the Viewers Media Foundation announced that it will hold 21 pilot screenings at multiplex theaters in seven regions, including Busan, Daegu, and Gwangju, until the 11th of next month.
The screening will feature three films, "Cheongseol," "Departure," and "Picnic," which tell the story of the deaf, and anyone can apply to watch it for free through the viewer media foundation's website.
Disabled visitors can listen to or view closed-type voice commentary and subtitle commentary using the device provided in the field.
Even non-disabled visitors can watch the sign language scenes of the characters in the movie "Cheongseol" through the device when they wear AR glasses.
The viewer media foundation and the Film Council plan to distribute equipment such as AR glasses, earphones, and smartphones through 12 centers nationwide through projects to improve the viewing environment for the disabled.
