Florence, Italy, which has been plagued by over-tourism problems caused by a surge in tourists, has announced 10 measures, including a ban on key storage boxes and loudspeakers.

According to a measure announced by authorities in Florence on the 12th local time, new key storage boxes cannot be installed in the Historic District of Florence starting next year to restrict short-term rental businesses for tourists such as Airbnb.

Authorities in Florence have also decided to ban the use of loudspeakers in the historic district by noisy tour guides and limit the use of golf carts, which are popular as the best means of transportation to travel through narrow alleys.

Florence makes a huge income by an average of about 15 million tourists each year, but locals have complained about the overflow of tourists.
